What Straighten My Smile Ohio is, who it is for, and what it is not.

Rustic Ohio farm scene with distinctive red barn and tractor under a bright blue sky.

Straighten My Smile Ohio is an independent publication about straightening teeth: what braces and clear aligners cost, what insurance and Medicaid do and do not pay for, how treatment goes, and how it works in six Ohio cities. It began in 2023 as a set of Ohio city pages and has grown into an archive of articles on dental care.

We are a publication, not a dental practice. We do not treat anyone, quote for treatment, book appointments, or pass a visitor’s details to a practice that does. Where a page names or links to a practice, we say so on the page, and we have not assessed the practice.

How the site works

Articles are written for a general reader and edited for plain language. Nothing here is advice about your own teeth; a treatment decision needs an orthodontist or dentist who has examined you, and a coverage question needs your plan documents or your state’s Medicaid office. Where an article links to a practice or a company, that link was placed by the practice or on its behalf. Corrections are welcome and are made quickly: send a message.

Straightening teeth in Ohio

Ohio has orthodontic residency programs at The Ohio State University in Columbus and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, both of which run patient clinics, and the Ohio State Dental Board licenses every dentist and orthodontist who practices in the state. Its license lookup is public. Ohio Medicaid covers orthodontic treatment for children and teens when it is medically necessary under the state’s criteria, and the city guides say what that means locally.
