Do I need an orthodontist for Invisalign?
No. Both orthodontists and general dentists provide Invisalign and the other aligner systems after the maker’s training. Orthodontists treat more of the complex cases and often quote toward the upper end; general dentists more often publish the lower tiers. The orthodontist tier simply shows where the register says the specialty training is.
Does Ohio Medicaid cover braces in Lima?
Children and teens only. Ohio Medicaid covers comprehensive orthodontic treatment for patients younger than 21 when the case is medically necessary under the state's scoring form (22 points or an automatic qualifier, form ODM 03630, from January 1, 2026), with one prior authorization covering up to eight quarters.
